Nice
Hello, information-starved readers. Here is a quick update to inform you of what's going on. Track Ten of the Virtual CD is near completion. I actually combined a couple of unfinished things from the last year, and added to it. It is built on a long droning guitar loop, the kind I enjoy creating for my own relaxation, with layers of percussion and so on. Some of the percussion and some of the guitar that I used was from loops I created while practicing (they all get saved). I also sampled Christina's voice and chopped it up. There are absolutely no string sounds! I am still waiting to determine whether it is "done."
Meanwhile, a huge development in my working relationship with "Gus" is that I am now working on a song with vocals (his vocals, not mine) for him! He sent me a demo of a lovely song done with just piano and voice, and I am arranging it. I am loving it. I cannot overstate what a big a deal this is for me. It's a very delicate song, so I'm trying hard to be subtle. For starters, I'm trying to do a trio of violin, viola, and cello, possibly with piano as well.

The work you are doing sounds fantastic, to say the least. Just be careful that you do not take too **** of an approach to any material you orchestrate for "Gus". Dynamic tension and **** have always been amongst your strongest suits...

Sorry about the censorship! My attorney advised me against using words like **** and **** on this blog! I don't want to give too much away! I hate to be the relayer of bad news...

I jumped from the "So many things" entry to this more recent entry and it is a good sign to see 'the instruments are out of the closet' and the move must be much more settled/settling! I am looking forward to seeing/hearing the post of the next 'release.'
